Summer Athletics 2019

The 2019 Summer Athletic Program will consist of three to six-week camps depending on the program you choose. You must pay for your camp(s) by one of the options listed below and complete the Athletic Clearance process before your student can participate in interscholastic athletic practices and contests.

March 21 to June 7 – Registration Open
After June 7 Late Registration is online only

Step #1
Complete the Mail / Drop Off Registration form included in the Summer Athletics Packet.

Step #2
Mail or drop off the form and payment (cash, check or money order only – credit/debit card payments can be made using option 1) to the Valencia ASB Office or ASB mailbox in the main office. Receipts can be viewed and printed through the Valencia ASB online store the following business day.

Step #3
Beginning May 13, 2019, visit the Athletic Clearance page on ValenciaVikings.com. Follow the instructions to complete the athletic clearance process. Athletes will not be eligible to participate in the summer athletic camps until clearance has been completed.

Step #2
Once logged in to the online store, proceed to select the camp(s) you wish to participate in and add to your shopping cart. When finished select “View Cart” and proceed to “Checkout” where you will be prompted to pay for your items. You will receive a receipt once the transaction is completed.

Step #3

ID Numbers

If you are continuing enrollment from any William S. Hart District School your ID number is the same. If you are coming from outside the district and do not have your ID number please fill out the form below. ID numbers are eight digits and begin with 99. 

WE WILL ONLY ANSWER REQUESTS FROM STUDENTS WHO ARE NEWLY ENROLLED IN THE HART DISTRICT.
ALL OTHER STUDENTS HAVE THEIR ID NUMBERS.

PHYSICALS & athletic clearance

Valencia High School Athletes are required to have an annual physical examination. Physicals are good for one school year.All physicals must be signed by a M.D. or D.O. No other type of Doctor will be accepted. Physicals must be performed with the athletes private Doctor or with the Doctor provided by Sports Med. 

For your convenience the Valencia High School Sports Medicine Program partners with local Doctors to provide low-cost physicals on campus. This physical will cover athletes for all of the 2019-2020 school year including the fall, winter, and spring sports seasons.

MEDICAL INSURANCE

California Education Code states that all students who participate in a co-curricular activity must have insurance coverage prior to practice or participation. If students do not have insurance coverage with their family, they may purchase low cost school insurance from Myers-Stevens Accident & Health Insurance. Brochures are available online at myers-stevens.com or in the Sports Med room (707).

There is no requirement of enrollment in a summer athletic camp to be on a team nor does enrollment in a summer athletic camp guarantee athletes making a team. Families may take summer vacations during summer athletic camps. If you have any questions about each camp please contact the coach. Refund/cancellation deadline is June 11, 2019. Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the ASB Office at kgallion@hartdistrict.org by that date. A $25 processing fee will be withheld from all refunds. The registration deadline is June 7, 2019. Late registration is only available online. A $25 late fee will be added to each camp after June 7.


Summer athletic programs are not subject to the same restrictions against fee collection that apply to school-year, educational activities. Hart District summer athletic programs are fee-based, and all participating students must have their registration (including payment of fees) completed before taking part in camp activities. Summer athletic camp programs differ from school-year programs in many ways, including the brevity of the program, the fact that there are no grades given, and participation in camps is optional. - Greg Lee, Director of Human Resources and Equity Services
