Homecoming Legion of Superheros - Sep 24

The Homecoming Dance is Friday Sept. 24th from 8:00 - 12:00 am. After the Homecoming football game. Tickets are $10 with ASB Card and $15 general. Advance sales only for all tickets. The Homecoming Dance is included with the dance ticket package. VHS Students can bring one non VHS Guest for $15 pre-sale. Guest permission slips are required and are available in the ASB Office. MAKE SURE TO BRING YOUR ID CARD TO THE DANCE!

Dances are school-sponsored activities and ALL school rules and regulations will be in effect. Before attending a dance all attendees must review all the information below and carefully read the notices regarding the CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE POLICY, DISTRICT LIABILITY WAIVER, DRESS CODE and MEDICAL RELEASE INFORMATION.

In particular, your attention is called to the Wm. S. Hart Union High School District’s policy on possession/use/influence of alcohol, drugs or any controlled substances. Stated simply:

Any student who has unlawfully possessed, used, sold or otherwise furnished or been under the influence of any controlled substance as defined in Section 11032 of the Health and Safety Code, alcoholic beverage or intoxicant of any kind at school or any school sponsored activity shall be subject to:
1. An immediate five (5) day out-of-school suspension;
2. Possible arrest by law enforcement authorities;
3. Possible expulsion from all schools in the District;
4. Possible transfer to another school or educational program;
5. Possible denial of the privilege of participation in graduation ceremonies and/or extracurricular activities.

School personnel will check all students prior to entering the event, and security officers will monitor activity throughout the evening. You are further advised that any such violation of the above policy will necessitate your parents providing transportation home from the event and your bid money will not be refunded.

Attendees whose dates are not Valencia High School students must have their guest approved prior to attending. Valencia High School administrators will screen the list of all guests. If your guest is not eligible to attend, you will be asked to choose another. Please note: Winter Formal guests must be between the ages of 14 to 20 years old, and need to provide identification at the door. Furthermore, You may bring an in-district date to the Luau, Homecoming and MORP, but they must provide school identification at the door, as well.

REQUIRED DRESS CODE

The dance dress code will be enforced. Appropriate dress for a formal dance is required and is expected for the entire evening. IF YOU ARE DRESSED INAPPROPRIATELY, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE DANCE AND YOUR MONEY WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. A dress shirt with collar and slacks (coat and tie optional) for guys and an evening dress or dress suit (no exaggerated plunging necklines, bare midriff, see-through material in inappropriate areas, or extremely short hemlines) for girls is required. Denim (black or blue) pants, cargo pants, shorts, sweats, and clothes that violate the school dress code are prohibited. Students must remain dressed as they entered throughout the dance. The Luau, Homecoming and MORP Dance dress codes are informal, but must still follow the schools dress code.

DANCE FLOOR EXPECTATIONS

Students and their guests are expected to behave appropriately on the dance floor. Any students or guests who engage in dangerous, lewd or other inappropriate behavior on the dance floor, including any dancing that may be interpreted as being sexually suggestive (Freak Style Dancing) , will be removed from the dance and sent home.

GUEST RULE POLICY

Valencia High School Students can bring one guest only.

Students must enter the gate with their guest.

Every student must have an ID card for admittance into the dance.

High School Students ONLY
No Junior High/College/Or OFL Students
School School dress code WILL be enforced
Tickets will be sold at the door ONLY to Valencia High School Students.

Pay by Credit Card Online! Students and parents can purchase their ASB items in the comfort of their own home and not have to wait in line to pay during registration. For more information visit our online store for log in instructions

If you are purchasing an ASB Card read this first:
If you are purchasing an ASB Card you will need to make two transactions in order to receive discounted prices for your PE clothes, yearbook, etc .
Step One: Log in - Purchase the item “ASB Card” by itself - Add to cart and checkout. Print your receipt showing you purchased an “ASB Card”. Once your pay for the “ASB Card” the web store should automatically apply a discount for the rest of the items.
Wait 30 min for the database to be updated - It may take up to 24 hours for your account to update to the discounted pricing.
Step Two: Log in again. Add the rest of the items you would like to purchase to your cart. (You do NOT need to purchase the ASB Card again.) The yearbook should now show up as $70 instead of $80 etc. Add as many items as you would like and proceed to checkout when complete. Make sure to print your receipt and bring it to registration.

MORP Dance - May 14, 2010

Valencia High School MORP will be held on Friday, May 14, 2010 from 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Ticket prices are $15 with ASB Card, $20 without ASB Card, and $20 for guest tickets. MORP is included with the dance ticket package. All tickets must be purchased through the ASB Office - there will be no door sales. Valencia High School students can bring ONE guest to the dance. Guest permission slips are required this year and are available in the ASB Office.

Pennies For Patients - Blood Cancer Drive

ASB is holding a fundraiser called Pennies for Patients in an effort to raise money and help find a cure for blood cancers by 2015. White coin boxes have been placed in 3rd period classrooms to collect money. Please donate any money that can be spared into the coin boxes. The class that raises the most money will receive a catered lunch from Olive Garden. Kids with blood cancers are counting on Valencia students to help find a cure. Please donate today!
